This project is intended to support community members through training in computer literacy. We are living in an era of information technology, where everything is computerized. Many of the people in our communities have been left behind due to lack of computer knowledge. As a result, many have found difficulties while at work, leading to layoffs or unemployment. Furthermore, many have been victims of fraud and manipulated due to various challenges faced while operating computerized gadgets.
This project will set up a computer center that will help
in training of all beneficiaries within the communities. This computer center
will be stocked with modern computers and other related machines that
constitute a modern day today secretarial bureau to help fully train
beneficiaries and make them computer-literate to compete in this rapid changing
world. The project intends to enroll and train up to 10000 beneficiaries within
the next 4 years.
80% of individuals in our communities are still facing challenges in the use of computerized gadgets due to limited computer training centers to equip them with basic computer knowledge and skills.
Currently, the few available computer training centers are privately owned and also charge expensively, hence limiting the majority of the community to learn how to use computers. Still more, these centers have few computers which are not compatible with the current software products and are still adamant to upgrade to the current technology trends, which has caused delays in copping up with the modern world.
Many of the individuals in our communities have been left behind due to this challenge because the available computer gadgets that are on market use upgraded technology, as a result, they have met difficulties in their way of work/life, conned, and many have been laid off from their jobs due to their incompetence.
Currently, due to increase use of technology, everything has been digitalized. Whether working, studying, or communicating, computer knowledge is fundamental in current aspects. A few with such high-tech gadgets do not know how to use them fully.
In order to cope up with the current state of technology, all individuals of the society must be enlightened in computer use and application of its associates. Our concern is to train all community members how to use computers and promote complete use of technology, which will lead to more importation of computer products from developed countries.
The project will set up a well-equipped state-of-the-art computer-training center that will provide a good learning technological experience for the beneficiaries. Due to the challenges faced in our communities because of computer illiteracy, we have been left with thoughts of demand to teach, train and enlighten our members in complete use of technology. This project intends to enroll and train over 10,000 beneficiaries within the next 4 years. It will help reduce computer illiteracy and promote complete use of advanced technology amongst members of the community.
This project will lead to technological transformation of all individuals in our communities. It will empower and encourage the majority of individuals in our community to become more responsible and productive in their lives.
The project will breed a new high quality generation of graphic designers, data entrants, office attendants, secretaries, software engineers, video editors, computer specialists, etc. that are so competitive in the job market.
This project will create demand for computerized products across in not only Uganda, but also the entire African continent.
We believe that this project will be a role model project that will open the eyes of all other training centers and prompt them to advance their own technology as well.
