Over the past three months, I have had the privilege of attending computer lessons at African soul initiative an organization dedicated to empowering individual with digital Skills.

I joined this amazing organization on 13.May.2024. I had a desire to advance more in ICT. It has been a great journey, I learnt a lot and trust me I can probably apply all I learnt in any office or any work.

In Uganda, orphaned children face numerous challenges accessing education, with limited opportunities for ICT-based learning. Currently, these children attend different schools and can only access computer training during holiday periods. While this presents a valuable opportunity, the limited time frame impedes the depth of impact we aim to achieve in empowering these young minds for a brighter future.

At African Soul Initiative, our commitment to community development drives our mission to empower the youth of Nansana municipality. Through our ICT Training Program, we've witnessed incredible transformations and empowered countless young minds with essential skills for the digital age.

In today's fast-paced digital world, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) plays a pivotal role in shaping societies and driving progress. At African Soul Initiative (ASI), we recognize the transformative potential of ICT and are dedicated to harnessing its power to uplift our communities.

As we look ahead, it's clear that the integration of ICT in primary schools is not a luxury but an imperative. It's a step towards creating an empowered generation that can leverage technology to break barriers, embrace opportunities, and reshape their own destinies. Let's come together to advocate for the inclusion of ICT in Uganda's primary school curriculum, ensuring that every child has the chance to embark on a journey of digital discovery and educational empowerment.

University Bursaries are always awarded by African Soul Initiative every intake thought the year. African Soul Initiative has been doing this ever since the initiation of this Program after the lifting of the COVID19 total lock down from the economy. These University Bursaries are awarded to the best O & A Level students from families which have financial difficulties within our community.

At the completion of the training, certificates are awarded to the trainees. Five programs are covered in depth: Microsoft Windows, MS Words, MS Access, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, Internet. A total of 62 participants enrolled for the training program, however only 22 participants managed to complete the whole package to receive their certification.
